For instructional fishing trips, on Kerr Lake or Lake Gaston please contact me through www.RickMorrisfishing.com.

After an awful hot late summer bass are starting to be caught 5 foot or less usually in the morning as always. Put your trolling motor on three-quarter high and start Chucking some buzz baits whopper poppers and Square bill crank baits! Water levels are down and the water temperature is still quite warm. Keep an eye out for those schoolers over deep water. When the sun gets up and there’s no current bass suspend out off the points, then it’s pick your weapons drop shot, big worm, large crank baits and so on by the end of the month with cooler weather the shallow water bite should pick up even more good luck.
