Robert Clements Wins The Bass Cast Kayak Series 2020 Championship & Brandon Overtstreet Gets AOY
On October 17th 2020 The Bass Cast Kayak Bass Series season come to an End on Smith Mountain Lake. Magnum Point Marina hosted us friday and Saturday allowing camping, delicious meals, and a place to host our awards. 18 of the 20 anglers qualified fished the event. We were also having a 3 angler fish off for Angler Of the year.
Robert Clements would finish with 77.75 inches. This would be good enough for 1st paying out $485. Robert was able to find a topwater bite that produced his winning fish.
Brandon Overstreet had 75.75 inches finishing in 2nd place for $230. He also won the big bass pot worth $180 with a 19.25 inch bass. Brandom made his way to the top throwing a weightless Fluke.
James Stanley finished in 3rd place with 75 inches earning him $155. James caught his fish on a variety of lures early in the day.
Brandon Overstreet, James Stanley, and Jonathan Graham were having a fish off for Angler Of the Year. The best finisher would take it home. Jonathan Graham finished the day in 5th place. It would ultimately come down to Brandon Overstreet and James Stanley. They were fishing the same area and ultimately passing each other on the lake throughout the day. In the end 1.75 inches was Brandon’s margin of victory. A big thank you to Journey Outdoors for donating a Crescent Lite Tackle Kayak to our AOY.
