PARMER WINS WALMART BASS FISHING LEAGUE ILLINI DIVISION EVENT ON OHIO RIVER

GOLCONDA, Ill. (June 15, 2015) – Mike Parmer of Metropolis, Illinois, weighed a five-bass limit totaling 17 pounds, 12 ounces Saturday to win the second Walmart Bass Fishing League Illini Division tournament of 2015 on the Ohio River. For his victory, Parmer earned $4,119.

According to tournament reports, Parmer caught his fish deep using a black and blue Reaction Innovations Sweet Beaver on the main river and in creeks.

The top 10 boaters finished the tournament in:

1st:          Mike Parmer, Metropolis, Ill., five bass, 17-12, $4,119

2nd:         Alan Spenner, Hoyleton, Ill., five bass, 13-14, $2,059

3rd:          Dustin Kielhorn, Harrisburg, Ill., five bass, 12-15, $1,374

4th:          Lance Barnes, Benton, Ill., five bass, 11-9, $961

5th:          Garrett McDowell, Mattoon, Ill., five bass, 10-13, $824

6th:          Ryan Dunn, Harrisburg, Ill., five bass, 10-11, $755

7th:          Bobby McMullin, Pevely, Mo., four bass, 9-13, $686

8th:          Marty Sisk, Evansville, Ind., five bass, 9-7, $618

9th:          Matt Jackson, Moweaqua, Ill., five bass, 9-3, $549

10th:        Dan Morehead, Paducah, Ky., five bass, 9-1, $480

William Walker of Mulkeytown, Illinois, caught the biggest bass of the tournament in the pro division, a fish weighing 5 pounds, 1 ounce and earned the day’s Big Bass award of $565.

Keith Clore of Percy, Illinois, weighed in five bass totaling 11 pounds, 8 ounces Saturday to win $2,023 in the co-angler division.

Dobill caught the biggest bass of the tournament in the co-angler division and earned the day’s Big Bass award of $277.

The top 50 boaters and 50 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 22-24 Regional Championship on Lake of the Ozarks in Osage Beach, Missouri. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger Z518C with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and $20,000, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger Z518C with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard.

The BFL is a 24-division circuit devoted to weekend anglers, with 120 tournaments throughout the season, five in each division. The top 50 boaters and co-anglers from each division qualify for a regional tournament and compete to finish in the top six, which then qualifies them for one of the longest-running championships in all of competitive bass fishing – the Walmart BFL All-American. Top winners in the BFL can move up to the Rayovac FLW Series or even the Walmart FLW Tour.
