Pamlico Sound/Albermarle Sound September Fishing Report by Capt. Scooter Lilley
The Roanoke river is still pumping out some heavy weights in the weekend tournaments. The fish are starting to transition to their fall time feeding patterns transitioning to the creeks and fallowing bait. Top waters are still working well, crank baits and flipping creature baits seem to be the best for success! I’ve been spending most of the month chasing bull reds on the Pamlico sound with popping corks. Using DOA lures , Zman swimbaits and gulp underneath the cork. The bite has been stingy last couple of days but we have boated some trophy fish. The cut bait fisherman have been doing well into the late afternoon and nighttime hours. If your interested in a fish of a lifetime give us a call for your chance at a 50 lb. Bull Red!
