Eric Rowe & Eddie Griggs Win Fishers of Men Virginia East on the James River

What a awesome start to the 2021 season! We had 46 boats participating on a beautiful weather day on the James River to kick our season off!

A Incoming tide most of the day made a small challenge to boost the weights of the bags, but at the end of the day the team of

Eric Rowe and Eddie Griggs bested the field with a solid 20.19lb bag, they were also the number 1 bonus bucks team, their effort rewarded them with just shy of $2000 for the days work! The team of James Griffin and Doug Wharton came in a close second with a bag of 19lbs even, thier bag was anchored with the big fish of the event with a beautiful 7.30lb largemouth! Rounding out the top three was the team of Garret Geouge and Mike Grogan, Garret had to fish this event solo and came in with an impressive bag for a total weight of 18.15lbs. We paid out 9 spots for this event, and had 25 teams in Bonus Bucks which added a very nice bonus to the top 3 BB teams!

A few event stats:

46 teams weighed a total 187 fish for 475.30lbs, all 187 were released alive for a 100% release rate!

Average fish per team was 4, average weight per team 10.33lbs, and Average fish weight 2.54lbs

The Virginia East team would like to thank all the anglers that showed up, and the family members that came to weigh in to watch the excitement!
