David McMichael & Bradley Whitfield win Fishers of Men Virginia West March 18,2017

What an amazing first tournament for Virginia West, we were hosted by Boydton Baptist Church in Boydton, VA. Brandon Slaughter and his team provided a great meal and venue. Thanks so much for this ministry partnership.

We had Jimmy Tarrant, pastor and author of Solitary Confinement come and speak to us about his break away from addictions and how God healed him, his passion for the ministry is awesome and I look forward to reading his book, we had 7 recommitments indicated on our ministry cards at the end of the night. Please guys if you ever need to talk or pray about things in your life, reach out to me or Tony Mccraw our chaplain, we are always here to listen and help in anyway we can.

Well, the tournament went well, we had alot of fish caught and the weather came together better then expected, not much rain and winds were not even that bad. At the end of the day, the winners were David McMichaels and Bradley Whitfield with a combined weight of 17.27 pounds, and based on others results, this was a great bag to start the season. Their bag had a 4.33 lb kicker.

These two managed to pull off the win on fish they found late in practice, using spinner baits and jigs on point location on the east side of the lake within site of the blast off area. Congrats to these two and we look forward to see how your year ends up.

The lunker of the day was caught by Jd. Shockey and Lynn Washington, it weighed 5.87 pounds and they managed to catch it on a crank bait on a main lake structure.

Jacob Bumgarner and Allen Bumgarner finished just out of the money and will receive two new JB Custom Rods at the next tournament.
